Template information
The Arado Ar 234 Blitz was Germany's second jet-powered aircraft and the world's first jet bomber. The first flight of the prototype took place on July 30, 1943. Ar 234 aircraft were produced in factories in Brandenburg, Neubrandenburg and, towards the end of the war, in Alt Lönewitz, Saxony.
Arado 234 machines were deployed in both reconnaissance and attack missions at the end of the war. In addition to aerial reconnaissance, they could play the role of a bomber or even a night fighter. Versions intended for night pursuit carried the FuG 216 Neptun V radar with antennas on the nose of the aircraft.
