Send a questionPlastic kit of the Soviet Yak-23 jet fighter produced by Směr.
Template information
The Yakovlev Yak-23 was the first Soviet straight-wing jet fighter. The aircraft was developed from the Yak-17 type in the late 1940s. The machine was powered by Soviet copies of German Junkers JUMO 004B (RD-10 type) or BMW 003A (RD-20 type) engines.
The Yak-23 could not match the more powerful and aerodynamically advanced swept-wing MiG-15, so the number of units produced was limited. Many Yak-23 machines were exported to Warsaw Pact countries, including Czechoslovakia.
