Template information
The Bristol Beaufighter was a British long-range heavy fighter aircraft of World War II, based on the earlier Beaufort type. This machine with two powerful Bristol Hercules engines gained considerable respect, which was due to its powerful armament and extraordinary flight performance. The machine carried a barrel armament in the form of 4 20 mm cannons and 6 7.7 mm machine guns. The already impressive armament could be reinforced with unguided rockets, bombs or torpedoes. The Beaufighter was originally developed as an aircraft for day and night pursuit, but its most significant variant was the naval version TF.X, which, thanks to its range and powerful armament, was able to cause significant losses to Axis ships.
