Template information
The BAC TSR.2 was a two-seat twin-engine prototype British tactical bomber, attack and reconnaissance aircraft developed by the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) in the 1960s for the British Royal Air Force.
The TSR-2 was designed as a machine designed to penetrate a heavily defended area of the front at low altitude and at very high speed. It was supposed to attack targets of great importance in the enemy's close rear with accurately dropped bombs, conventional or nuclear.
The TSR.2 project included the full spectrum of cutting-edge technologies that, when completed, would make it the most powerful aircraft in the world in its respective category.
The TSR.2 development program was canceled by a controversial decision and the funds intended for its completion were transferred in favor of the (subsequently also unrealized) purchase of the American General Dynamics F-111K.
