Outside the RAF Spitfire aircraft were used in most of the Allied air forces. Particularly important were the Canadian (Royal Canadian Air Force), Australia (Royal Australian Air Force), South Africa (South African Air Force) and New Zealand (Royal New Zealand Air Force) Air Force. This included also one of the few non-US aircraft types have served in the U.S. Air Force (United States Army Air Forces).
