Sensor speed nitro or petrol engines designed for telemetry modules Spektrum TM1000 or TM1100. The sensor contains a magnet that creates this magnetic field. A Hall probe placed in the magnetic circuit, the magnetic flux measured by the magnetic circuit. The presence of ferromagnetic materials (iron, steel) near the head of the probe (distance up to 5 mm) causes an increase in the magnetic flux. The probe is typically attached to the bottom of the rear motor cover, which is close enough to the crankshaft. Passage steel crankshaft sensor around zvýšímagnetický flow sensor which is considered as one revolution. Passage steel crankshaft is indicated by flashing to the telemetry module appropriate LEDs. This will also verifies the correct operation of the sensor.
The sensor in this way works without problems for ordinary nitro engines and petrol engines in volume of about 50 cm ³. In the event that the crankshaft pin is distanced from the sensor more than 5 mm (particularly in larger petrol engines) or the rear part of the engine made of steel, the sensor will not operate properly. In these cases, we recommend the aluminum flywheel for the propeller to place a piece of scrap iron. Alternatively, you can drill a hole in the flywheel, which is screwed into a steel worm. Speed sensors are then placed on the flywheel. Mounting method obviously depends on the situation.
