Plastic kit of two Panavia Tornado fighter planes.

Template information

The Tornado is a twin-engine multirole combat aircraft with variable geometry wings. It also represents the result of joint development within the project of British, German and Italian companies. Although it has been used in several roles during its operational career (attacks on ground targets, electronic warfare/reconnaissance, interception missions), its main role has always been low-altitude ambush missions.

The Tornado can carry and use a very varied and especially devastating arsenal of offensive weapons. Thanks to its two powerful twin-jet afterburner engines, it can reach a maximum speed of Mach 2.2. This machine experienced its baptism of fire in 1991 in the Gulf War. Air operations, in which the Italian Tornado IDS also took part, began on 17 January. The targets of the bombing campaign were military facilities and infrastructure.
