The Traxxas XL-5 controller allows the model to be powered by a 2S LiPo battery. The nylon chassis provides high strength. The proven Magnum 272 transmission with adjustable friction clutch is used.
Due to the placement of the engine behind the rear axle, high traction is ensured. Excellent driving characteristics are due to the precise geometry of the suspension. With a high shoulder lift, you can overcome even more demanding terrain.
The regulator with three driving modes guarantees fun for adults and children, thanks to the possibility of limiting the power to 50%. Control is provided by the Taraxxas TQ 2.4GHz transmitter with precise control mechanics. Of course, a wide range of tuning and spare parts is available.

Extreme Heavy Duty kit installed

Clipless bodywork
The unique body attachment system using beaks in the wheel arches allows for quick and easy battery replacement and a clean look of the model. Unlike traditional posts with clips, the body adheres to the clipless holder with a much larger area, so it does not crack.
Chassis construction
The chassis is made of nylon, which is filled with glass fibers for greater strength and toughness. The engine with gearbox and differential is located at the rear of the model. The drive system forms a compact closed unit, which ensures easy operation.
Gearbox, adjustable disc clutch and planetary differential
A gearbox with a friction clutch reliably transmits engine power to the axles, the Magnum 272 differential planetary gearbox has gears made of hardened steel. This system requires absolutely minimal maintenance. There are pinions and sprockets with different numbers of teeth, so you can fine-tune the model for both speed and technical tracks.
Revo Spec Torque Control friction clutch
Adjustable Revo Spec Torque Control friction clutch ensures smooth power transfer. A properly set slip rate protects the drive train, but does not reduce the model's acceleration.
Oil dampers
High-lift oil shocks use dual X-rings for a perfect seal and smooth operation. The robust design combined with a high oil volume can absorb even hard impacts in difficult terrain. You can tune the dampers to your liking by adjusting the preload of the springs or by changing the viscosity of the oil.
Servo steering
The standard size Traxxas servo 2056 DC motor digital servo is waterproof. For increased water resistance, the servo box is fitted with a rubber seal.
Powerful Titan 12T engine
The car model is fitted with a modified Titan 550 12T DC motor. The motor has 30% more power than conventional 540 series motors. The rotor at the back of the motor contains a propeller that blows air into the motor and effectively cools it.
Traxxas XL 5 electronic controller
Traxxas XL-5 waterproof electronic controller with three driving modes, support for modern high-capacity LiPo batteries and easy control with the EZ-Set button. The XL-5 controller is equipped with a training mode that limits full throttle to 50%.
Thanks to this, novice drivers or children can gradually familiarize themselves with the features of the model and prepare for the full performance of the car. Thermal protection, gold-plated connectors and incredibly low internal resistance are the features of this regulator. Traxxas XL 5 Controller Modes:
- Sport: Default mode, forward, braking and reverse are possible.
- Race: Mode suitable for racing. Forward and brake is possible; reverse is not available.
- Training: Mode suitable for children or novice riders. It is possible to drive forward with a power limitation of 50%, brake and drive backwards with a power limitation of 50%.
Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz RC Kit
The model is controlled via a 2-channel Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz steering wheel transmitter, operating in the 2.4 GHz band. The transmitter is powered by only 4 AA cells. There is a rotary knob on the transmitter that trims the steering (the model goes straight if the steering wheel is in the center position). The status of the batteries in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. Reverse can be set on the transmitter on the throttle and steering channels.
Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz receiver
Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz 3-channel receiver ensures safe driving without dropouts. Easy one-button pairing and LED status indication.
USB-C charger
The package includes a NiMH battery and a modern, fully automatic 40 W USB-C charger. The charger allows you to charge 6-7 cell NiMH batteries with a charging current of up to 4 A. The USB-C charger can be powered by any USB adapter and connected with a USB-C cable. However, for full charging performance, it is necessary to choose suitable components.

Must be purchased
To operate the model, it is necessary to add 4 AA cells (pencil batteries) for the transmitter. We recommend powering the USB-C charger with a powerful USB adapter. USB adapter and USB-C connection cable are not included in the package. To use the maximum charging power, it is necessary to choose sufficiently dimensioned components, i.e. Traxxas USB-C 100W power cable and Traxxas USB-C 45W power adapter .
To extend the driving time, we recommend purchasing an additional battery. For regular riding and for children, we recommend buying one more identical NiMH battery, which is included in the package.
For maximum driving time and higher performance, you can use modern LiPo batteries. If you use different types of accumulators, it is always necessary to set the type of the connected accumulator on the controller!
The Traxxas 8.4 V 3000 mAh NiMH battery (flat) is ideal for normal riding, the Traxxas 8.4 V 5000 mAh NiMH battery (high) for normal riding with longer driving time, and the Traxxas 7.4 V LiPo battery for maximum driving time 5800 mAh. Batteries must be equipped with a Traxxas iD power connector.
Accessories for normal operation
For the normal operation of the RC car, you need tire glue, silicone oil for the shock absorbers and a set of allen screwdrivers.
The bead of the tire is glued to the rim with tire glue. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly glued all the way around! If the tire is not glued all the way around, it may tear.
Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, with the fact that even after hardening, the glued joint remains flexible. Do not use ordinary instant glue - it is not flexible after hardening, and cracks would gradually appear on the tire around the rim.
For routine maintenance, screw glue is needed. Screws screwed into the metal material (e.g. screws in the motor or worm in the pinion) must be secured against loosening with this glue.
Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the shock absorbers. During normal operation, there are only slight leaks of silicone oil on the piston rods of the shock absorber. In the event that the surface of the damper pistons or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leakage may be large.
So-called repair kits are supplied for these cases. In the range of tuning parts, piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating are delivered to all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN surface are easily recognized by their golden-green color. From our range of silicone oils, we recommend TLR, Traxxas or Medial silicone oils, see recommended accessories.
